An affordable Powerline adapter may achieve the internet connection via router
Powerline equipment is an alternative to USB wireless adapter and built-in Wi-Fi chip
Powerline is a wired cable adapter with an extension of built-in wireless network technology. It provides wireless data transmission and can support a longer distance without having a physical ethernet cable between router and computer in two separate rooms.
Powerline adapter and USB wireless network adapters have the same capability of data transmission and number of transfer speeds. However, powerline has better networking performance than standalone USB wireless network adapters, so it could be beneficial to people who need to upload and download various files and documents without delay. Additionally, it can be used for TV and game streaming.
A powerline adapter is simple to use and doesn't need to be configured. Windows and Apple Macintosh desktops have the ethernet ports and will automatically configure an internet connection alongside WPA2 and AES encryptions when a pair of powerline adapters are connected. (See a diagram)
Note: It should not be confused with a PoE (Power Over Ethernet) adapter.
